Studebaker’s Avanti: America’s Most Advanced Automobile

Studebaker National Museum Archivist Andrew Beckman will take an in-depth look at America’s Most Advanced Automobile, the Studebaker Avanti.  This presentation will look at Studebaker’s motivations for introducing a sports car and touch on the Avanti’s design and development process. The talk will follow the Avanti’s running changes through its 18-month production run and also its transition to the Avanti II. Additionally, Mr. Beckman will review Avanti sales data, including analysis of the most popular colors, options and accessories as well as a look at rare and unique Avantis.

The Studebaker Museum Speaker Series, presented by the Campisi Family Education Fund, is held in the Wiekamp Auditorium. Regular Speaker Series admission is $2. Regular admission fees apply to tour the Studebaker National Museum or The History Museum. Studebaker National Museum and Campus Members are admitted free.
