SAVE AMERICA'S TREASURES GRANT

Save America’s Treasures (SAT) is a grant of federal money available for preservation and/or conservation work on nationally significant intellectual and cultural artifacts and historic structures. Intellectual and cultural artifacts include artifacts, collections, documents, sculpture, and works of art. Historic structures and sites include historic districts, sites, buildings, structures, and objects.

Grants are awarded to federal, state, local and tribal government entities, and non-profit organizations through this competitive matching-grant program. Grants are administered by the National Park Service in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Institute of Museum and Library Science, and the President’s Council on the Arts and the Humanities. First Lady Laura Bush serves as the Honorary Chair of Save America’s Treasures.

In 2006, SAT awarded 61 projects in 29 states out of 337 applications. The Studebaker National Museum project is the only one awarded in the State of Indiana. There has not been a grant award to Indiana since 2001.
